Compress a photo to 20 KB or 50 KB

Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image, then select the 20 KB or 50 KB maximum file size. PhotoReadyKit creates a JPG and updates the preview automatically. If your application requires exact pixel dimensions, enter those first. Otherwise, leave width and height blank and allow smaller dimensions if needed to meet the limit.

Check the finished file size and use Compare & zoom to inspect facial details or signature strokes before downloading. A smaller file is useful only if it stays readable. If the result looks blurry, start with a clearer original or use a higher size limit when your form allows it.

Resize a photo or signature to exact dimensions

Copy the required width and height in pixels from your application form. Enter both values for an exact output size, or enter just one to keep the original aspect ratio. Choose Fit whole image to preserve the full picture with white padding, or Crop to fill and adjust the crop position while watching the preview.

Signature mode starts at 400 × 200 pixels and 20 KB. These are editable starting settings, not universal application requirements. Keep the complete signature visible and check that thin strokes survive compression. Replacing an image keeps your settings for the next file in the same page session.

Meet a minimum and maximum file size

If a form asks for 40–50 KB, enter 40 in Minimum size and 50 in Custom limit. Leave the minimum blank when there is no lower limit. Here, 1 KB means 1,000 bytes.

A very small or simple image may stay below the minimum even at high JPG quality. The tool reports this instead of adding filler bytes. Try a higher-resolution original, larger dimensions if permitted, or a wider allowed range. If the form fixes both dimensions and file size, keep those requirements and check with the form provider when no suitable result is possible.

01 / CHECK THE FORM

Use the actual requirements.

Copy the pixel dimensions, format and size limit from your application. Requirements vary by portal.

02 / CHECK THE RESULT

Readable beats tiny.

Inspect your photo or signature before downloading. Compression can soften fine details.

03 / YOU’RE IN CONTROL

No acceptance promises.

We check your selected size and dimensions. The application portal makes the final decision.

What is the difference between resizing and compressing?

Resizing changes the width and height in pixels. Compression reduces the bytes used to store the JPG, which can soften details. A form may require both a specific pixel size and a maximum file size; check both before downloading.

Does background removal work for every image?

It is designed for people photos and replaces the background with white. It does not produce a transparent PNG or clean up signatures. Inspect hair, glasses and clothing edges before using the result. You can undo the change.

Are my photos uploaded or saved?

Image processing runs in your browser. Your selected images are not sent to our server. The optional portrait tool downloads its processing files on first use. See our privacy policy for hosting and browser-storage details.

Will an application portal accept my file?

No tool can guarantee acceptance. PhotoReadyKit checks your chosen dimensions and maximum file size. You must also check the portal’s rules for background, framing, recency, readability and minimum file size.

Compare image quality

Scroll inside each image to inspect details. At 100%, one image pixel equals one CSS pixel; the images may have different dimensions.
